Context:
Our client had embarked on an extension of its plant to accommodate a new production line. The project covered industrial civil engineering works as well as the purchase of new production equipment.
Requirement:
The company needed support with the negotiation, management and administration of complex contracts involving several parties: construction companies, industrial equipment suppliers and service providers, all while keeping to the timescales and budget allocated.
Prime Conseil’s involvement:
Our consultant supported and advised the Industrial Division, the Procurement Division and the Executive Board throughout the project, in particular on the following aspects:
-
- Support with drafting the specifications and selecting suppliers and service providers.
-
- Risk analysis, contract drafting and negotiation.
-
- Negotiation and follow-up of contract amendments to adapt the contracts to changes and unforeseen events.
-
- Stakeholder coordination: facilitating exchanges between the project supervisor, the suppliers and the internal teams, ensuring sound communication and alignment of objectives.
-
- Cost optimisation: rigorous management of claims and disputes to prevent any budget overrun and safeguard the profitability of the project.
-
- Monitoring of deliverables and deadlines: contractual performance indicators put in place to meet the key milestones.
Outcome:
The project was delivered on time with limited growth in financial commitments, while ensuring that the infrastructure and equipment complied with the contracts and met the client’s expectations.
