Context:
The client, a car manufacturer, set out to create a high-end showroom in Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire) to showcase its new models and give its customers an immersive experience. The project covered the construction of the building, the interior fit-out and the integration of technology and design equipment.
Requirement:
The client needed support to manage and negotiate complex contracts involving a range of parties: construction companies, interior architects, IT suppliers and service providers.
Prime Conseil's involvement:
We supported and advised the Project and Network Development Departments throughout the project, focusing on the following areas:
- Support with the negotiation, management and monitoring of contracts;
- Negotiation and follow-up of contract amendments: adjusting contracts in line with changes to the project and with unforeseen events (e.g. changes of scope, delivery times for specific equipment, etc.);
- Stakeholder coordination: facilitating exchanges between the teams involved in the project and also with the local authorities;
- Cost optimisation: proactive management of claims and disputes in order to avoid any budget overrun and to safeguard the profitability of the project;
- Monitoring of deliverables and deadlines: implementation of contract performance indicators to ensure the key milestones of the project were met within the allotted time.
Outcome:
Thanks to rigorous management and hands-on use of the contracts, the showroom was delivered in line with the specifications agreed with the client, on time and with limited budget impact, despite the setbacks encountered.
